Last year, government made Uljin pilot institute because of the shortage of pilots. However, they only can have 200 flight times and it is much less than 250 flight times which is airline’s minimum requirements. One student said “they told me it is less expensive than go to the overseas and we could be a pilot but actually we can’t apply because of flight times.”(Student, Uljin flight institute) And furthermore, there is more problem because they spend more than 50,000,000won and if they want to meet requirement they spend more money and it is just like same to go to the overseas.

I once thought to enter this pilot school. Because it is operating by government so I think government gives a lot of benefit for the student. But, actually there is lot of problem such as the article as above. When government made a plan they should care about the student because they stake their life on the pilot.

Blog #8 desktop computer and laptop computer

Where are you usually doing a computer? If you want to faster one then maybe you would like to do in home or if you want to pursue more convenient then you might want to take a laptop. When we think about computer we normally think there are two different type of computer. One is desktop computer and another is laptop computer. Furthermore, both of computers are actually doing a same job in these days.

Just one decade ago laptop computer is really expensive about two or 3 times expensive than desktop computer and too much slow. But today, laptop computer is no more expensive than desktop and you can do whatever you want, even though you can do a 3D online game like desktop working. Because of this, many people now concern about what they should buy.

           However, if you want to laptop computer like desktop performance it need about 2 times expensive than desktop computer. Also, it needs to care at any time because a lot of times people dropped the laptop so it could be broken easily than desktop. But, there are lots of pluses.  An extended battery life could use laptop computer quite long time with no line. And you can carry a lot of program so even you can do a study in library or in a class. Desktop computer is also quite good benefit in a lot of way. It is much faster and less expensive than laptop and most of all; you can do a bigger screen.

           Two types of computers are becoming popularized and enhanced. So in the near future, there could be no boundary between laptop computer and desktop computer. The computer technology is developing quite faster than we think, in someday, our next generation may called different types of computer as an “outdated computer” not like a desktop or laptop computer.

If you want to go for working holiday I want to recommend you that the Australia is best place to go. Australia’s area is 77times bigger than Korea and the population is two times lower than Korea. So if you are sick of traffic jam or many people bothering you in the subway or on the street than how about just go to Australia? A couple years ago, I went to Australia for working holiday and spent there about a years. When I was there I saw there are a lot of difference between Korea and Australia.

One of best difference was man’s toilet. Maybe you don’t know why it is different. In Korea, there is just one door so when you are having a pee you are exposed when somebody opens the door so every time felt shame. In contrast, Australia has two doors. Even if somebody opens the door they need to open the door twice and there is a certain interval so you never exposed somebody else.

I had an experience when I cross the crosswalk in Australia and like in Korea, I just waited that the car was passing but after several minutes car was still in there and asked me “are you passing?” than I felt little embarrassed because it never happen in Korea. Because in Korea, car is first and man second. So we should wait until car is passing. 

Other thing was people’s attitude. When people open the door they never care about the others. Therefore sometime people got hurt because of careless habit. In Australia, people’s always open the door and wait until the other person go out and smile and sometime they greeting each other. And just on the street they just say hello and wish me to good day. If you say hello to other person in Korea, you might become a strange and crazy person.

I am not talking about the Korea is bad and Australia is good. Because there are many good things we have and they don’t. However, I hope Korean someday become friendly to the stranger and care about than now. It is one of important way to become an advanced country because advanced country not only well developed civilization but also well-developed culture and spirit.

Essay #6

   Even though the technology is well developed so that we can drive an airplane with just short training, there could be expected a serious danger.

   What if the plane has a technical problem and electronic devices are not operated well? If that happens they might have a serious problem or even they could die. Also, when plane crashed in the ground there might someone else have serious problem too.

   Another problem is if they use an airplane into a bad way like an airplane terror in USA, it could be a more danger ever before. Because it was happen in the ground. Someone who really got addicted and killing the others with some reasons or no reason. If we can easily drive the airplane they would do same things in the air.

   Someway I agreed that the technical advancement is enough to help our life. If we could drive a plane, the living area will be much broadens. Before we don’t have car, we can only access a short distance but car make us more broaden so that the plane will do same job. However, we should think about its side effect more.

   To avoid this problem they should train a lot of time and it should be limited by giving a proper certification. Technical advancement is help to our life more but we should deal with its side effect so we can have both happy life and safety.

Wanna be a pilot?

Have you heard about Unmanned Aerial Vehicles? UAV is now most spotlight product in aircraft field. People are often thought about a plane that move itself and sometime they help the driver for emergency problem or even they want to sleep during they are driving so they can drive a plane without lot of training to being a pilot. Luckily if we develop few things then we might be driving a plane.

The most important in UAV is control a balancing. In the past to balancing a plane, pilots tried to concentrate every minute to control it. However, nowadays because of Autopilot system pilots doesn’t need to anything when they took a plane.

Auto tracking system is also important. Even if auto pilot system can balance your plane but if you do not know where you are now and where you want go? Maybe highly educated pilots would know where it is because they can read the map but like us how can we define? Because of this problem auto tracking system will let you know where you are and if you choose destination the plane will follow that way.

Even the aircraft technology getting improved, some people say why we would drive plane? And plane is so expensive so we cannot afford to do it. However, we should know that 100 years ago car is expensive and only few of person could drive it. Nowadays everyone can drive it because it is getting inexpensive and lot of technology getting easy to make a person to drive.

Technology can change lot of things so you could say someday I am driving on the ground but the future we would say I am driving in the air. Technology is getting intelligent and makes a dream come true.

Do you believe the ghost?

   Have you seen ghosts in your life? When I was young like 7 years old or something I was very sick I can’t even move around freely so my grandmother took care of me. Oneday, my grandmother and no other family member were left in my home. So I was just curious what is outside because I don’t want to stay alone even if I am sick. And then I met 3 women with their backs to me who were doing laundry. Then I said hello. Then they turn their face to me. After a while, I screamed because they were not human. They just looked at me without moving. I was just frozen a while and then ran to my home and fainted. I didn’t know how long I was out for but, when I wake up my grandmother was there so I asked her “did you see the ghost in outside?” but she told me there was nothing when you were there. But I can say it was there. How come no one can see that? It was a very strange experience until today.

The Leh

       One day I saw a TV program National Geographic and it just stunned me. After that, the images rapidly came to me every day. It was about Leh the most northern part of India. So, I just decided to go to India to see what I saw. When I arrived in India, it was just like a lawless world. They never followed traffic rules, some drivers even reversed in their lane; the air pollution was so bad i had to stop breathing through my nose. At first time I wanted to stay in Delhi, The capital of India, but because of these reason it made me go directly to Leh. Leh was the capital of the Himalayan kingdom of Ladakh, now it’s just the Leh District in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, located at an altitude of 3524 meters in the northwest. Here is crystal clear sky, pure and invigorating air every day and the night sky seemed to be raining stars. The people looked unspoiled and fresh. Everything was dreamlike except altitude sickness. I definitely recommend Leh to you if you want to have a unique and special travel something you’ve never had before. A tranquil ancient city  just   awaits you.

     I traveled in India several years ago and ran into someone by chance. I didn’t know who he is and his character at least, in the beginning. He is TenzinGyatso who is known as DalaiLama, the spirit of Tibet. There are many reasons that I respected him.

     Firstly, I like his attitude especially in religion. Even if his is a monk, he never says you should believe Buddha whereas others do. I have seen there are lots of conflicts between two or more religion and got many problem with blame, attacking and even murder. But he said, “Religion is nothing and the most important is inside your mind, love the other person and religion although you are not believe.”

     Secondly, the Tibet have been colonialized by China but he sticked to his non-violence beliefs. It’s very hard to understand to being that. I also can’t behave like him if someone try to deprive mine. But he is constantly doing a such belief. That’s why many people admire him all over the world including me.

     Lastly, He is a real leader. I always think the leader’s most imoportant ability is let someone doing by their belief. If leaders force someone to make action, they will not trust you anymore. But DalaiLama he truly received a trust from their people. Because he is acting such I mentioned.

What I want to do is to become a commercial aircraft pilot.
So I would transfer a school next year as a 3rd grade.
